APAC Packaging Sourcing Lead – Chemicals

Location: Singapore

Our client, a global organization within the chemicals space, is looking for an APAC Packaging Sourcing Lead to drive regional procurement initiatives and strengthen supplier partnerships. This role focuses on shaping sourcing direction, improving cost structures, and ensuring a stable and future-ready supply base across packaging categories.

You will work at the intersection of procurement, operations, and innovation—partnering closely with internal stakeholders to enhance supplier performance, support new product initiatives, and embed sustainability into sourcing decisions. The role also plays a key part in translating market intelligence into actionable strategies that improve competitiveness and long-term value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive sourcing direction for packaging materials across the region, ensuring alignment with broader business priorities.
  • Monitor supplier markets, pricing movements, and potential risks to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate spend and improve supplier efficiency across the portfolio.
  • Build and manage a strong network of suppliers, focusing on reliability, innovation, and cost performance.
  • Lead supplier discussions on pricing, service levels, and long-term collaboration.
  • Support new product initiatives by working with suppliers and internal teams on material selection and feasibility.
  • Partner with teams across engineering, quality, and operations to improve packaging solutions and processes.
  • Act as a central coordination point for packaging-related initiatives across the region.
  • Ensure clear communication of supply risks, opportunities, and key developments to stakeholders.
  • Drive initiatives that improve cost efficiency while maintaining quality and supply continuity.
  • Support budgeting cycles with insights on pricing trends and cost drivers.
  • Develop and track performance metrics to ensure sourcing effectiveness.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact through improved packaging materials and processes.
  • Contribute to responsible sourcing efforts and compliance requirements.
  • Leverage systems and tools to improve procurement visibility and decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
  • Experience working with packaging materials or closely related categories.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiations.
  • Proven ability to work across functions and influence stakeholders in a regional setup.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into actions.
  • Exposure to sustainability initiatives or responsible sourcing practices is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-cultural environment.
